Terror Threat to PM Modi’s Aircraft: Mumbai Police Nab Man from Chembur for Making Threatening Call to Prime Minister’s Flight

Mumbai, Maharashtra (February 12, 2025): Mumbai Police have arrested a man from the Chembur area after he allegedly made a threat call warning of a terrorist attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aircraft. The police control received the threat call on Tuesday, February 11 as the PM was leaving on an official visit abroad.

The caller said, "Modi is going to America. An American terrorist is going to bomb Modi's aircraft." The caller further added that this is the same terrorist who has bombed six planes.

Taking the threat seriously, Mumbai Police immediately alerted other security agencies and launched a thorough investigation. The suspect was tracked down and taken into custody. "The person who made the threat call to the Mumbai Police Control Room has been taken into custody from the Chembur area. He is mentally ill," Mumbai police said as quoted by ANI. Further details about the individual are under investigation.

Meanwhile, PM Modi co-chaired the AI Action Summit in Paris on Tuesday alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit, which lasted a week, concluded with a High-Level Segment attended by global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts.

Following the event, Modi arrived in Marseille, where he was received by the Indian community at a hotel. He is set to visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project with Macron, highlighting Indo-French collaboration in nuclear fusion research.

The prime minister will then travel to the United States at the invitation of President Donald Trump. This visit marks Modi’s first official meeting with Trump since he began his second term in office.
