With the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic in the State the government started financial aid scheme for the people belonging to scheduled castes.

But it has come to fore that the data of the beneficiaries is being collected illegally for minting money, taking advantage of their illiteracy .

The scheme is applicable for people living in both urban and rural areas. For this reason, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has constituted a panel to identify beneficiaries on Nagar Parishad, Nagar Palika and and Nagar Panchayat level.

The committee consists of two officials each from Nagar Parishad, Nagar Palika and and Nagar Panchayat. The beneficiaries will be provided applications with a unique code.

The aid money will be deposited directly to their India Post account. The Covid kits will be distributed by the city-level committee.

But it has been found that some organisations are gobbling up the money in the name of the beneficiaries. These organisations are also collecting data of the beneficiaries illegally.

Project officer Digambar Chavan said that strict action will be taken against any person of organisation found indulged in such practice.
