Finally after a gap of around ten months the football action resumed amid Covid scare with NDFA-JSW Senior Division Football League at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Stadium in Suyog Nagar, North Nagpur on Wednesday.

The new witnessed the inaugural encounter between Nagpur Star FC and Meverick FC in which Nagpur Star recorded 2-1 victory. In the very fifth minute Babu Francis opened the scoring thru fabulous goal. In the 16th minute, Sankalp Kawade increased the lead 2-0.

In the second half with just four minutes remaining for the long whistle Kapil reduced the deficit for Meverick and rekindled some hopes. However in the remaining time Nagpur Star defenders succeeded in maintaining the lead

On Thursday, Rahul Academy will take on Green Flag at 1 p.m. followed by second encounter between Ansari FC and Al Fateh at 3 p.m.

Earlier the tournament was inaugurated at the hands of chairman of NDFA disciplinary committee Salim Baig. NDFA president .Harish Vora along with other officials Iqbal Kashmiri, Abid Khan, Khalid Ansari, Stanley Gregory, Eugene Norbert, Atmaram Pandey,

Mohammad Mubin, Vinod Tiwari, Abdul Latif, Hemant Sahani , Sanjay Kathale and Ramu Naidu.
