This is Vidarbha's first defeat after winning four consecutive matches. Even after losing the match, Vidarbha are still on thje top position in group 'D' with 16 points in five matches followed by West Bengal (16) who have played all six matches. Jharkhand and Maharashtra have 12 points each to theri credit. They will play one match each more. Vidarbha will play their last league match against Jharkhand on October 27.
Batting first Vidarbha scored 177 for nine in 20 overs. Skipper Atharva Taide (37, 16b, 6x4, 1x6) and Dhruv Shorey (62, 45b, 4x4, 2x6) gave a flying start to Vidarbha by making 83 run partnership for the first wicket. That was the only major partnership. In form Shubham Dubey scored 12-ball 23 hitting one boundary and two sixes. Jitesh Sharma (1@), Darshan Nalkande (13 not out and Umesh Yadav (11 not out) were other scorers.
For Maharashtra, S Bachhav claimed four wickets conceding 23 runs. P Solanki got two for 40.
In reply, Maharashtra achieved the target losing just 16.1 overs losing two wickets. Opener Gaikwad slammed unbeaten 102 in just 51 balls hitting six sixes and 11 boundaries. HE HE was well supported by captain Kedar Jadhav who scored 17-ball 42 with the help of two sixes and seven boundarie.s Siddharth Mhatre remained unbeaten on 32.
All Vidarbha bowlers proved expensive. Akshay Karnewar and Harsh Dubey got one wicket each.

Vid women lost to Maha by eight wickets
In a low scoring match, Vidarbha women lost to Maharashtra by eight wickets in Senior women T-20 Trophy match at Barabati Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Batting first Vidarbha lost their wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for a paltry 73 in 18.1 overs. Only opener Shivnai Dharne (31) and Riddhi (12) managed to cross the double digits. For Maharashtra, D Vaidya claimed six wickets for 12 runs.
In reply, Maharashtra achieved the target in 11.2 overs. Skipper Smruti Mandhana remained unbeaten on 35 while T Hasabnis scored 34.
