After the process of acquiring land for widening the Kelibagh Road in Mahal, the anti-encroachment wing of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) demolished structures, which were hindrance to NMC in doings its job.

On Friday, 9 shops were broken with the property of Raje Sangram Singh Bhonsle.Now the hurdle to widen the Kelibagh road has been overcome. The sub-divisional officer handed over 33 properties to NMC, which were obstructing the road work. NMC started demolishing the construction following which tension prevailed in the area for sometime.

The NMC’s demolition squad reached with JCB, truck and workers and started demolishing the structures from Central Avenue to CP & Berar College.

That also included the property of Raje Sangram Singh Bhonsle. It includes the shops of Rajaram Singh, Laxman Singh, Bharinibai Khanjode, Snehlata Hirde, Purushottam Jais, Nalubai Rahate.

Police force was also deployed in view of the protest from traders. Police Inspector of Kotwali Dnyaneshwar Bhosale was present with his team. The action was taken under the guidance of NMC deputy commissioner Mahesh Morono, sub divisional officer Shekhar Gadge, assistant commissioner Ashok Patil, Naib Tehsildar Sunil Salve and superintendent of Encroachment Department Sanjay Kamble.
