Nagpur, Maharashtra (January 17, 2026): A 23-year-old woman died after receiving an electric shock while heating water at her residence in Gulshan Nagar, Kalamna. The deceased has been identified as Saraswati Mukesh Katekar.

Police said Saraswati placed an electric heater coil inside a steel bucket filled with water and plugged it into a power socket. As she attempted to switch it on, she suffered a severe electric shock and collapsed.

Her husband immediately switched off the power supply and rushed her to Mayo Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
