Preparations for two-week winter session of the state legislature have gotten the pace. The public works department (PWD) has estimated a primary cost of Rs 54 crore for the session. Some increase in the budget can not be ruled out. However, the cost is only for infrastructure development.

It may be mentioned here that Ravi Bhavan, the residence of ministers and MLA hostel are being used as Covid isolation centre. Doctors residence and testing centre have been made in Ravi Bhavan while MLA hostel is being used as Covid care centre. The two buildings will be closed for five days after saitisation for the winter session. Later, the painting will be held. After that almirah will be made in the room fit for the use of winter session. facelift will also be given to Hyderabad House and Vidhan Bhavan. The planning is to start work from October 20 after issuing the tender.

According to the assessment of PWD, parking will be arranged in Kasturchand Park. Police personnel residence will be made in police line Takli. Barricades will also be taken to control the rallies. It has been announced to take a place on rent for the residence of external personnel. Apart from this, mattresses, beds, blankets etc. will also be taken.

Challenge to vacate 160 kholis and Ravi Bhavan

There is also a challenge to vacate 160 kholis, MLA hostel and Ravi Bhavan. PWD has already given a letter to district administration. At present 63 Covid patients are admitted in the MLA Hostel. Dr Nitin Gulhane, who is holding the responsibility of the hostel, said at present has no official order to close the Covid care centre. We will do whatever administration tells, he said.

On the other 160-kholi premises has also not been vacated. The families staying there said that they were not getting rented house due to Covid pandemic.
