Nashik: NCW Launches Pre-Marital Counseling Center to Prevent Family Disputes and Early Divorces

To reduce family disputes and prevent early divorces, a pre-marital counseling center has been started in Nashik. The center aims to guide couples before marriage to help them build a strong foundation for their future together. A dedicated counselor has been appointed for this initiative.

The National Commission for Women has launched the 'Tere Mere Sapne' pre-marital communication program across 22 locations in Maharashtra, including Nashik, Regaon, Borivali, Kandivali, Jalna, Latur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Parbhani, Solapur, and Nagpur. The Nashik center was inaugurated on Women’s Day, and two couples have already undergone counseling sessions.

The Women and Child Development Department has trained counselors to assist couples in understanding their roles, responsibilities, and expectations before marriage. According to District Women and Child Development Officer Sunil Dusane, this counseling will help couples develop emotional connections, understand social and cultural expectations, and maintain harmony and respect between both families.

The counseling sessions will cover physical, mental, and family aspects of marriage, including the impact of work-related stress and lifestyle adjustments.

The counseling center is located at the Sakhi One Stop Center building in the Social Welfare Office area near Nasardi Bridge, Nashik. It operates from 10 AM to 5 PM. Couples interested in counseling can visit the center during these hours.

This initiative is expected to help couples prepare for marriage with better understanding and effective communication, reducing conflicts and strengthening relationships.
