Nashik has long struggled with the menace of unauthorized hoardings. Despite repeated complaints from citizens, the municipal corporation and the police have often failed to take strict action. Now, known criminals have started using these hoardings to assert their presence in the city.

These unauthorized banners, often put up during public festivals, celebrations, and birth anniversaries of great leaders, prominently feature individuals with criminal backgrounds. This has raised concerns among residents, as such displays create an atmosphere of fear and lawlessness.

Taking a firm stand, Nashik Police, under the guidance of Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, have intensified their crackdown on those responsible. The Ambad Police Station, led by Senior Inspector Rakesh Hande, has already registered multiple cases against individuals involved in this illegal activity.

Among those booked are suspected criminal Ganya Kawale, alias Ganesh Wagh, and expatriate criminal Rakesh Koshti. They had put up unauthorized hoardings in the name of a religious program. Similarly, hoardings promoting Bhushan Londhe, who has a criminal record, were found across various locations in CIDCO. Acting swiftly, the police removed these banners from areas including Gunta Trimurti Chowk, Pawan Nagar, Uttam Nagar, State Bank Chowk, and Pathardi Phata.

Additionally, birthday hoardings for Bhushan Londhe were spotted at Pathardi Phata, Mahamarg, Divya Adlabs Cinema, and Shubham Park Road. In response, the police have registered cases under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against those responsible.

Nashik Police have made it clear that they will not tolerate such unauthorized displays aimed at creating indirect fear among citizens. By registering cases and initiating legal action, they hope to curb this growing menace and restore order in the city.
