Nashik: In a tragic incident, a two-year-old child lost their life after a leopard attack in Valkhed village of Nashik’s Dindori taluka on Tuesday, April 21 night. This incident created panic among locals about safety. The deceased identified as Dnyaneshwari More, was the daughter of a migrant worker staying at a farm in the village.
According to TOI report, on Tuesday night, the leopard suddenly pounced on the child and dragged her away before anyone could intervene. After the attack forest team and police visited the spot and with the help of residents launched search operation. The deceased body was found short distance from the site. Following a panchnama, the body was sent to Dindori rural hospital for postmortem.

Forest officials are treating the incident seriously due to frequent leopard sightings in Valkhed and nearby villages. They have installed three cages and four trap cameras near the location, and confirmed the presence of pugmarks in the area, to monitor the animal's movement and attempt capture.
