A toddler girl dies after an iron slide located within the society premises fell on her head. This tragic incident occurred in Pune's Hadapsar area. A case has been registered against the society chairman and members of the Executive Committee, holding them responsible for the accident. The deceased identified as Anika Navnath Devikar (4.5 years). Her father, Navnath Pandurang Devikar (aged 34; resident of Vedvihar Society, near Noble Hospital, Magarpatta, Hadapsar), has lodged a formal complaint regarding this matter at the Hadapsar Police Station.

According to the police, the incident took place around 12:30 PM on April 7, while Anika was playing within the society premises. The society administration had installed various play equipment for children within the complex. The iron slide located in the society's compound fell on Anika, causing severe injuries to her head, face, and neck. Anika, who had fallen unconscious, was rushed to a private hospital; however, she passed away while undergoing treatment.

It has been alleged that the slide within the society premises had not been installed securely. Anika's father, Navnath, had previously informed the society office-bearers about the need to remove the slide. He had lodged repeated complaints regarding this issue. However, in his formal complaint, Anika's father, Navnath Devikar, has stated that the accident occurred because the society office-bearers failed to take appropriate action despite these warnings.

Based on the complaint filed by him, a case has been registered against the individuals concerned. Assistant Police Inspector Sane is currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
