Nashik Weather: Hot Days and Cold Nights Cause Health Concerns Among Citizens

Nashik is witnessing sharp temperature fluctuations, with hot days and chilly nights causing discomfort and health concerns. While the afternoon sun is intense, the early mornings and nights bring cold winds, leading to a noticeable climate imbalance. This sudden change is affecting the health of many, especially young children.

For the past 15 days, the city has recorded an average 20-degree difference between day and night temperatures. On Friday (28th), the maximum temperature reached 35.4°C, while the minimum dropped to 17.1°C. After a brief warm spell in January, temperatures have once again started dipping in the mornings and nights, making the weather unpredictable. The sun’s heat becomes noticeable after 10 AM, peaking between 12 PM and 4 PM, making it necessary to wear scarves, hats, and sunglasses when stepping out.

With rising temperatures in mid-February, experts predict severe heat waves in March, April, and May. The sudden shifts in temperature have already started affecting children’s health, leading to an increase in cases of cold, fever, and respiratory infections. Many hospitals are seeing a surge in young patients suffering from seasonal illnesses.

Dr. Asif Sheikh, a family physician, stated that the drastic change in temperature is a major reason for these health issues. He advised parents to take precautions by ensuring children wear appropriate clothing, stay hydrated, and avoid direct exposure to the afternoon sun.
