Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Choudhary receives grand welcome on first visit to his ancestral village

Patna, April 27 Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary visited his ancestral village, Kewta, in Samastipur district on Monday, marking his first visit since assuming office.

The occasion turned into a celebratory event as villagers extended a grand welcome, raising slogans in his support and creating an atmosphere of a festival across the locality.

Addressing the gathering, Vijay Kumar Choudhary stated that despite the change in leadership, the NDA government under Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will continue to function in line with the vision of Nitish Kumar.

He affirmed that the government remains committed to fulfilling Nitish Kumar’s developmental agenda and ensuring continuity in governance.

Vijay Kumar Choudhary expressed pride in representing Samastipur at such a high level, noting that after Karpoori Thakur, he is the second leader from the district to hold the post of Deputy Chief Minister.

Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur became the chief minister of Bihar twice and is known as a social reformer of the country.

Vijay Kumar Choudhary assured the public that he would work tirelessly for the development of Bihar, with special focus on his home district.

Although his ancestral home is in Kewta village under the Ujiarpur Assembly constituency, Chaudhary has consistently represented the Sarairanjan Assembly constituency as an MLA.

A senior leader of the Janata Dal (United), Vijay Kumar Choudhary, is considered a close associate of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and has won multiple Assembly elections, including the 2020 polls.

His longstanding political experience and grassroots connections have made him a prominent figure in Bihar’s political landscape.

Currently, in the government led by Samrat Choudhary, he is handling as many as 10 ministerial portfolios on an interim basis, pending the expansion of the cabinet.

Apart from Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav is another Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, who is holding 8 ministry portfolios. He is also considered a trusted leader of Nitish Kumar.
