The Chhattisgarh Police is carrying out a drive called anti-Maoist operations. As a part of this drive, they demolished a 20-foot-tall tower structure. According to PTI, this structure was a memorial, erected by Maoists on the outskirts of the Kanker area.

The police force tore down the structure and dismantled the complete structure as a part of their anti-Maoist operations in the Kanker region of Chhattisgarh.

According to a Times Of India report, on the border of Bijapur and Dantewada, almost 40 people from eight families discreetly fled their villages. The Maoists had threatened them to leave or they will die.

Under pressure from security forces, Maoists have begun lashing out at people. These families were evicted from Todma and Kohkawada villages in Tushwal Panchayat, which is 360 kilometers from Raipur, because they were responsible for the Thulthuli encounter, which took place on October 3, 2024, and resulted in the deaths of 38 Maoists.
