In the Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, security forces continue to conduct intensive search operations. Their vigilance has led to repeated successes in recovering and defusing IED bombs planted by Naxalites. The latest incident occurred on the Konta-Golapalli road, where security personnel discovered a 5 kg IED in the middle of the road, reported the news agency ANI. A joint team of CRPF 228 Battalion and Konta Police successfully defused the explosive, preventing potential casualties.

Security forces have been intensifying operations against Naxalites across the region. On February 26, they recovered a significant cache of explosives and medical equipment from the Minagatta forest. Two days earlier, on February 24, they demolished a Naxalite memorial and seized hidden weapons and explosives.

Earlier in January, security forces foiled an IED attack in Sukma, where Naxalites had planted a 10 kg explosive near Belpocha on the Konta-Golapalli road.
