Coronavirus: Check out the states where schools and colleges will reopen in Unlock 4

Due to COVID-19 schools and colleges have been closed in a bid to contain the spread of the deadly virus. Many schools are resorting to online education. According to a recent survey, 78 per cent of parents are not willing to send their children to school till the pandemic is over, and it is safe for them to step out, even if their children have to miss a year of school for their safety. The schools and colleges in the country are likely to reopen from September 1 in Unlock 4. 

Before the Unlock 4 teachers and staff members of schools and colleges have been asked to join the duty from September.

Check out the list of states where schools and colleges will reopen.

1. Telangana:The state continues to teach students through online classes, however around 30,000 government schools reopened on August 27 with more than one lakh teachers joining their duties.

2. OdishaSchools in Odisha will remain closed until the end of Durga Puja.

3. TripuraSchools in Tripura are waiting for the Central Government's orders, however, it has already started conducting classes in schools. 

4. West BengalThe state government has announced schools will reopen after September 20.

5. Karnataka:Nothing is confirmed about schools, however, colleges in Karnataka will start regular classes from October 1.

6. Sikkim:Teachers will have report to the schools from September 1.

7. Andhra Pradesh:Schools in Andhra Pradesh will begin from September 01.

8. Assam:Assam has got its teachers ready after conducting a Covid-19 test on them last week of August. The classes in the state will begin from September 01.
