Covid-19: 525 cases reported so far in Delhi

The number of coronavirus cases in the national capital went up to 525 on Monday, recording an increase by 22 new cases in the last 24 hours.

New Delhi, April 6 The number of coronavirus cases in the national capital went up to 525 on Monday, recording an increase by 22 new cases in the last 24 hours.

The national capital has also reported seven deaths since the outbreak of the infection.

According to the Delhi Health Department, among the total 525 cases, 329 cases are from the Nizamuddin Markaz.

"While 168 positive cases have foreign travel history and those who came in contact with them, 329 are from Markaz," the Health Department said.

The positive cases in Delhi have increased dramatically since people were evacuated last week from the Markaz building where over 2,300 people from different parts of the world and country were staying under one roof without following any social distancing norms.

Among the total patients, 19 have been discharged and cured while one has migrated to another country.

"In total, 498 patients are in the hospitals. While 25 are in the ICU, eight are on ventilators and 15 are on oxygen," the health report said.

So far, 8,464 tests have been conducted in the city and 1,228 reports are pending.

Over 18,500 people have been home quarantined across the city and 3,183 are quarantined at the government facilities.

The positive cases in the city are increasing at a rapid rate since last week. The number of positive cases in Delhi was 97 on March 30, which increased to 120 on March 31.

There were 152 cases on April 1, which increased to 293 the next day. By April 4, the tally swelled to 445.
