In view of the increasing coronavirus cases in the country, educationists have expressed to scrap NEET, JEE and CLAT exams this year.

The educationists have proposed for an alternative assessment in order to provide seats to students.

“Everyone is under distress during this Covid-19 pandemic and the cases are only expected to increase in July and August. An examination for crores of students across the country would be highly impossible to be held safely. At least for this one year, the exams must be scrapped for students’ sake,” said Dr R Murali, Tamil Nadu secretary, Save Higher Education Movement.

Another educationist said that students should get admission on the basis of their board exam scores in relevant subjects.

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic a lot of parents and guardians of the students have written to the Union Human Resource Development Ministry that along with holding of the remaining examinations of CBSE in the month of July, JEE Mains and NEET Exams should also be postponed.
