Union Roads and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the country's first LNG pump in Nagpur. During the event he said, there is an atmosphere of anger among the people over the rising prices of petrol and diesel. People are protesting against the hike in fuel prices. Gadkari said that now we need to turn to alternative fuels.

LNG costs Rs 10 lakh to convert trucks and buses. The average annual running of these vehicles is 98,000 km. This will save you Rs 11 lakh a year if LNG is converted. Diesel is costing you more. The cost will be 35 per cent and the benefit will be 65 per cent. The investment in LNG will be repaid in 295 days. There will be benefits in the future, Gadkari said.

If LNG is filled in Nagpur, the vehicle will run for 800 km. As a result, LNG pumps will have to be set up on the way to and from cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad. Gadkari said that this would reduce the cost of transportation and save the government's money on diesel as well as vehicle owners' money.

Nitin Gadkari has kept flex engine alternative on the rising prices of petrol and diesel. The automobile companies that sell vehicles in India have flex engine vehicles in countries like Canada. Those companies will also be ordered to offer flex engines in India. The decision will be taken in the next three months, he said. There's nothing big about it, just a small part change, and a little change in the engine. Then this engine will also run on ethanol. Gadkari also said that there is no big difference between the prices of these vehicles and the prices of petrol vehicles.
