Five people were killed after a speeding sports Hayabusa bike crashed into a car in Telangana's Mahbubnagar district in the early hours of Monday, May 11. The accident took place at the Palakonda area on the Mahabubnagar bypass when a four-wheeler slowed down to take a U-turn.
The sports bike, coming from behind at a high speed, rammed into the rear portion of the car. The bike rider and the pillion died on the spot. Three people sitting in the car's rear seat also suffered serious injuries and died later.

The deceased have been identified as Arshiya Begum (30), Ujeppa (7), Amar (2) and biker Yakub Afzal (25). The identity of another person was yet to be ascertained, according to the Deccan Chronicle.
According to the Mahbubnagar Police, the accident occurred at around 1 am. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to the district government hospital.
As per the preliminary investigation, the bike race is suspected to be the main cause of the accident. Investigation underway. More details awaited.
