A deeply disturbing case of animal abuse has surfaced from Kurar Village in Malad East, Mumbai, involving a two-and-a-half-month-old puppy. The animal was allegedly subjected to sexual assault and severe physical violence by a 20-year-old man. The incident came to public attention after a rescue video spread rapidly across social media platforms, sparking anger and shock. The footage was released by the PAL (Pure Animal Lovers) Foundation and documents the dramatic rescue operation carried out with the assistance of Mumbai Police and local animal welfare volunteers at a public toilet in the locality.

The viral video shows police personnel and activists arriving at the site after receiving information about the abuse. Initially, the accused reportedly refused to open the locked toilet door, raising suspicion and tension among onlookers. After repeated attempts failed, the police forcibly entered the premises and apprehended the man. He was seen partially clothed, wearing only shorts, when taken into custody. As the incident unfolded, the public gathered at the location, expressing outrage and demanding strict action against the accused for the horrific act.

According to the PAL Foundation, the injured puppy was rescued immediately after the intervention and taken for urgent medical treatment. The organisation stated that the animal remains in critical condition and emphasized that such brutality against a defenceless creature is unacceptable. In its message accompanying the video, the foundation demanded swift justice. Meanwhile, police authorities confirmed the detention of the accused and said an investigation is ongoing. Officials indicated that a formal case will be registered under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
