Muzaffarpur power cut: Electricity Shutdown in Several Areas on March 12-13
Power supply is likely to be disrupted in many areas of Muzaffarpur for two days. To ensure uninterrupted power supply during the summer season, some construction work will be underway at the 220/132/33 kV Super Power Subgrid (GSS) in Mushhari. Due to this, power supply will be disrupted in many areas of the city and surrounding areas for two days. The Assistant Electrical Engineer has sent a letter to the Electricity Supply Division seeking permission for the shutdown.According to the electricity official, two new 33 kV lines are being constructed at GSS Mushhari by M/s ABN Tower & Transmission Private Limited, Kolkata.
As a result, a shutdown is necessary on March 12th and 13th for piling work for the foundation of the pipe structure under the 33 kV main bus. The first section of the 33kV main bus line will be closed from 5:30 am to 11 am on March 12th.During this period, supply to all feeders connected to the Markan, Bandar, Dholi, Binda, and Akhtiyarpur feeders will be disrupted. However, limited supply from alternative sources will be arranged for some feeders. On March 13th, during the same period, the other part of the main bus line will be shut down. This will affect supply to areas connected to the Bela, BMP-6, Chandwara, and Bariyarpur feeders. The department has appealed to all consumers in the concerned areas to perform essential tasks, including filling water tanks, during this shutdown period.
Consumers are requested to cooperate with the department during this essential work. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted. The shutdown is necessary to ensure the long-term reliability and improvement of the electricity supply infrastructure in the city. Once the new 33 kV lines are operational, consumers can expect a more stable and efficient power supply. The department is committed to minimizing disruption and will restore power as quickly as possible after the completion of the piling work. Real-time updates regarding the shutdown and restoration of power will be available on the department's website and social media channels. Consumers can also contact the Electricity Supply Division's helpline for any queries or concerns.
