Nainital Bus Accident: One Killed, Several Others Injured After KMOU Bus Overturns in Khupi Area

One was killed and several others were injured after a bus carrying around 15 passengers overturned near Khupi area of Nainital district in Uttarakhand on Friday morning, March 27. According to the news agency IANS, a KMOU bus travelling from Haldwani to Didihat lost control and overturned on the road. 

Upon receiving information, teams from the police, SDRF and fire brigade rushed to the spot and carried out a rescue operation. The injured were immediately taken to hospitals in Bhawali and Haldwani for treatment. Police took custody of the deceased’s body and sent it for post-mortem examination. SDRF Sub-Inspector Manish Bhakuni said the bus overturned en route, resulting in one death on the spot. Authorities have informed the families of the deceased and the injured.

SDRF Sub-Inspector Manish Bhakuni said, "We received information at around 7:25 am through the control room that a bus had overturned near Khupi on the Bhowali road. Our team immediately took action and rushed to the spot. Upon arrival, we found the bus overturned, and civil police and fire teams were already present there..."
