The second wave of corona in India is said to be waning as the number of new patients has been declining in the last few days. However, the number of deaths due to corona in the country is still high, raising concerns. However, while expressing satisfaction over the second wave of coronavirus, the Union Ministry of Health has released alarming figures. According to the Ministry of Health, 1.8% of total population of India has been affected by the disease so far. We have been able to contain the spread of the infection to under 2% of the population. As many as 98 per cent of the population is still in danger.

The health ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that the percentage of people affected by corona in other countries was much higher. But India has managed to keep it low. This is made possible by the measures taken to prevent corona.

Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health, said, "Despite the large number of corona infections, we have been able to contain the spread of the infection to under 2% of the population." This is only possible with medical help.

However, some people have expressed doubts about the figures released by the government, Experts say the government has ignored the findings of the National Sero durvey. About 20 per cent of the country's population was said to be infected with the corona. According to a serological survey conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 21.4 per cent of the country's young population had covid by mid-December last year.

India recorded the highest single-day COVID-19 fatalities with 4,529 new deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry's data on Wednesday. Meanwhile, India's daily spike of coronavirus cases remained below the 3 lakh mark for the third consecutive day as only 2,67,334 fresh infections were recorded during a 24-hour period.
