Punjab: Burglars Target Locked House In Dhakoli, Flee With Valuables Worth Lakhs
The theft incident reported in the Dhakoli area, where burglars struck a locked house in the Krishna Enclave society during the night and stole valuables worth lakhs of rupees. This incident has sparked outrage among residents and raised questions regarding the effectiveness of the police's security arrangements.
Victim identified as Rekha Devi, the resident of House Number 341, had gone to sleep at her mother's house, located nearby. During her absence, thieves broke the locks, gained entry into the house, and carried out the burglary. The thieves stole a gas cylinder, an inverter, a computer, and various other valuable items. Upon returning home in the morning,
Rekha Devi found her belongings scattered and immediately alerted her neighbors. Hansraj, the President of the society, has urged the police administration to increase night patrolling in the area. The Dhakoli police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
In Pune theft reported thefts totaling ₹5,94,479, with cases registered at respective police stations. In one incident, a 38-year-old from Dhayari reported to the Narhe Police Station that thieves broke into his home on Saturday April 25th, stealing ₹1,49,000 worth of gold and silver jewelry. Police Sub-Inspector Pawar is investigating.
Separately, a 52-year-old from Uruli Devachi filed a complaint at the Fursungi Police Station, stating that thieves broke into his home between 10:00 AM and 5:15 PM on Saturday April 25th and stole ₹2,04,000 in gold, silver, and cash. Police Sub-Inspector Pawar is also investigating this case.
