Rajasthan Tanker Fire: One person was charred to death after a tanker carrying an inflammable substance overturned and caught fire on National Highway 68 in Rajasthan’s Jalore district on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. The incident occurred near the Sinwara overbridge on the Jaisalmer-Jamnagar highway when the tanker, en route from Barmer to Sanchore, overturned. The impact caused the flammable substance to spill and ignite, triggering a massive blaze.
According to the reports, the fire spread across several metres of the highway, disrupting traffic on one carriageway. While one person inside the tanker was burnt alive, another managed to escape in time. Administrative officials and police personnel from the local outpost rushed to the spot after receiving information. A fire brigade team from Sanchore was deployed to bring the flames under control.
As a precautionary measure, traffic on one side of the highway was temporarily halted. Authorities are investigating the incident.
