The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is laying the foundation of a school here at Shikarpur, with the sole purpose of mentoring students for inducting them into armed and paramilitary services.

The RSS run school will provide adequate training, including physical and ideological mentoring, to the students so as to inspire them to join various armed forces. RSS plans to affiliate the school, which will have classes from 6-12, to the CBSE. The school will be a full-time boarding school with all facilities.

"The school is named as 'Rajju Bhaiya Sainik Vidyalaya' in the memory of Rajju Bhaiya, the fourth Sarsanghchalak of RSS. The school will be a boarding school and will house 1200-1500 students. It is built on a piece of donated land," said Tushar Gupta, a local.

"RSS will run and manage the school. It is managed by a trust whose manager is DK Sharma, the BJP leader. Character building in addition to studies will be stressed. Students will be provided training so as to enable them to join BSF, CRPF, Army, etc," said Suresh Kumar Gupta, an engineer involved in the construction of the school building.

Rajpal Singh, who donated his land for the school, said: "The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum will be followed in the school. Students will be trained for the defence forces".
