Strong rains expected to hit Delhi from March 5 to March 7
After mercury touched 29 degree Celsius at Safdarjung on Tuesday the IMD has forecasted a spell of strong rain and hailstrom in parts of the capital from March 5th to 7th. Met officials confirmed that the intensity of rain and hail will be severe on March 6. There is also expected to be a western disturbance influencing other parts in the northern plains. NCR will also record squall conditions on March 6 with wind speed ranging between 40-50 km/hour.
In view of this forecast, the regional met centre in New Delhi has issued a yellow watch over Jammu, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi on Wednesday. However, this watch will intensify into an orange-level alert for the subsequent two days. Meanwhile, the IMD is yet to release the weather warnings for Saturday, March 7.
