Two youths arrested in Thane for stealing 110kg onions

Amidst the rising onion prices two youths were arrested for stealing 110 kg onions from a shop in the APMC market.

Amidst the rising onion prices two youths were arrested for stealing 110 kg onions from a shop in the APMC market. This is the third time such a case has come into light since the time the prices have soared up. The arrested individuals have been identified as Imran Sayyed and Jarish Shaikh both residents of Kalyan east. 

The stall owner filed a complaint after he found two gunny bags containing 55kg onions each had gone missing. The owner had purchased 110kg of onions from a wholesaler for Rs, 6500 and was to sell them at Rs.7,000 in the market.The police who were on patrol found the two accused fleeing with the gunny bags as the duo were then questioned and who then spilled the beans on Shaikh who was nabbed and the second bag was recovered.
