Meerut, Oct 25 A man has been arrested in Meerut for attempting to rape his daughter-in-law.

When the son tried to prevent the father, he attacked the son with a stick and broke his head.

When the neighbours reached there and protested against the accused, he threatened them too and then ran away. In the complaint given at the police station, the son alleged that he was sleeping in his room on Tuesday and his wife was doing household chores.

Meanwhile, he claimed, that his father caught hold of the daughter-in-law, took her into the room and tried to rape her.

The young man tried to save his wife when she raised an alarm but the father attacked the son and started beating him with sticks.

People nearby came and saved the young man.

After this, the accused father fled.

The young man along with his wife reached Lisadi Gate police station and lodged a complaint of attempted rape.

The police immediately raided several places and arrested him. The accused has been sent to jail.
