Amethi: In a tragic road accident 30-year-old man died after being struck by a speeding truck from behind near Mangouli village in Jagdishpur police station area. This tragedy occurred on Saturday May 2, 2026.
As per the information provided by police, deceased identified as Pankaj Upadhyay, a resident of Girja Morh under Baldirai police station area in Sultanpur district was travelling by motorcycle. A speeding truck hit him from behind near Mangouli village in Jagdishpur police station area, killing him instantly. Jagdishpur police station SHO Dhirendra Kumar Yadav said the body has been sent for a postmortem.
On Friday, April 24, a Bolero speeding near Gayaspur village lost control, hitting cyclist Amarjeet of Gayaspur and overturning into a ditch. The Bolero, driven by Chand Babu of Khara and returning from a pilgrimage to Dewa Sharif in Barabanki with five women and seven children, collided with Amarjeet as he cycled to work at BHEL. Amarjeet's bicycle was destroyed, and the Bolero's occupants were also injured.
Villagers assisted in transporting the injured to the Community Health Center, where Amarjeet, Chand Babu, and Aisha of Khara were stabilized before being referred to the District Hospital due to their critical condition. Imran and Nazmeen were treated and discharged. Police impounded the Bolero and bicycle, and SHO Vivek Verma stated that legal action would commence upon receiving a formal complaint. The accident could have been fatal.
