New Delhi, April 4 Delhi Cabinet Minister and MLA from the Bawana constituency, Ravindra Indraj Singh, said on Saturday that the government is fully committed to the holistic and balanced development of the city’s rural areas.

He said that under the Delhi Village Development Board (DVDB) fund, with the support of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department, large-scale infrastructure strengthening work is being carried out at a rapid pace across various villages in the Bawana Assembly constituency.

Ravindra Indraj Singh said that these works include the construction of blacktop roads from Jat Khor to Punjab Khor, from Majra to Jat Khor, the development of Phirni Road and RCC drains in Punjab Khor, the development of Phirni Road and RCC drains in Bajitpur, the construction of a blacktop road from Bajitpur to Majra, and the comprehensive development of Phirni Road in Harewali village.

He said the work in Harewali village is particularly significant, as it had been pending for nearly 30 years and is now being completed on a priority basis.

Ravindra Indraj Singh emphasised that these development works are not limited to road construction alone, but are laying a strong foundation for the long-term and holistic development of villages.

These projects will enhance connectivity between villages, ensure smoother, safer transportation, and provide a permanent solution to waterlogging and drainage issues by constructing RCC drains, he said.

Additionally, improvements in sanitation, health, and environmental conditions will significantly enhance the quality of life for rural residents, he said.

He stated that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ensured adequate and effective budget allocation for the Delhi Village Development Board, which has accelerated the pace and direction of development works.

This budget will facilitate the creation of sustainable, modern, and future-ready infrastructure in villages, ensuring long-term benefits.

Ravindra Indraj Singh added that the Chief Minister is personally monitoring these development works closely, resulting in improved speed and quality of execution.

“The impact of these efforts is now clearly visible on the ground,” he said.

He reiterated that the Delhi government aims to provide strong road networks, efficient drainage systems, improved infrastructure, and a comfortable living environment in every village, bringing rural areas at par with urban facilities.

He noted that development projects are continually being inaugurated and launched, and that this momentum will be maintained in the future.

The Minister expressed confidence that these initiatives will give Delhi’s villages a new identity, bring historic improvements in connectivity and infrastructure, and set a strong, sustainable, and inspiring example of rural development.
