Navi Mumbai: Clear Water Dues Before March 31 Or Face Action, CIDCO Warns Consumers

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has issued a public appeal urging consumers within its administrative jurisdiction to clear all pending water charges before March 31, 2026. Officials warned that strict action may be taken against those who fail to settle their dues within the specified timeframe. According to the civic body, defaulters could face penalties under the corporation’s regulations, which may include the disconnection of water supply. The appeal is part of CIDCO’s effort to ensure financial discipline among consumers and maintain smooth functioning of the water supply system in the areas under its control.

Authorities warn of possible disconnection

CIDCO officials emphasised that the timely payment of water bills plays a vital role in maintaining an uninterrupted supply of water to the villages and urban nodes that fall under its jurisdiction. Regular collection of water charges enables the authority to carry out routine maintenance, repair work, and operational activities related to the water distribution network. A CIDCO official stated that consumers with unpaid bills should settle their dues within the stipulated deadline to avoid penalties. The official further cautioned that failure to comply with the directive could ultimately result in the suspension or disconnection of water services.

The corporation currently provides water supply services to numerous villages and developed nodes located within its administrative limits. Authorities highlighted that prompt payment of water charges by consumers is essential for maintaining the efficiency and sustainability of the supply network. Officials also explained that regular revenue collection allows the corporation to strengthen infrastructure and ensure consistent water availability across the region. By paying bills on time, residents can contribute to the smooth operation of the water distribution system and help prevent disruptions that could arise due to financial constraints faced by the utility authority.

CIDCO has also informed consumers that multiple payment options are available for settling water charges conveniently. Residents can clear their outstanding dues through online payment platforms, at authorised collection centres, or by visiting the relevant CIDCO offices in person. In addition, consumers who notice discrepancies or have concerns regarding their water bills have been advised to promptly approach the respective CIDCO office for clarification and resolution. The administration has appealed to all consumers to cooperate by clearing their dues before the deadline, helping ensure a reliable and uninterrupted water supply system across the region.
