Navi Mumbai Shocker: Thieves Attempt to Run Over Cops After Failed Robbery Bid at Sagar Vihar
Navi Mumbai Police had a narrow escape when a gang of six suspected robbers attempted to run over them while fleeing the spot to evade their arrest. On March 3, around 4:35 AM, cops were chasing the robbers in the Sagar Vihar area after getting a tip about the robbery. In this chase, they managed to arrest one accused, while five others slipped away from their hands.
After getting the tip about the robbery, the police set up a trap in Sector 8, Sagar Vihar, to catch the thieves. The gang was traveling in a red Tavera when the cops started to chase them on their way. Instead of surrendering, the six robbers planned to flee the spot and in the process, they tried to run over the police team.

But after avoiding the police, they came to a dead end, and five of them were able to escape from the car before the authorities could apprehend them. However, one of them got stuck in the car, and the police quickly apprehended him.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Adinath Buddhwant said that the police got information about these six accused and knew they gathered with intentions of committing robbery. He also said that police managed to arrest Paramjeet Poman Singh alias Nagesh, 43, while five others - Sardar, Nepali Thapa, Hasan, Nepali, and Hasan’s friend slipped away from the police.
A case has been registered with the Vashi police under Section 310(4) (dacoity), Section 132 (criminal force against a public worker), Section 324(2) (offense of mischief), and Section 3(5) (many individuals committing a crime together) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
