Mark Henry signs up with WWE's rival company AEW as analyst and coach

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has signed up with rival company All Elite Wrestling as analyst and coach. Tony Schiavone introduced Henry as one of the analysts for the AEW Rampage, debuting in August. Henry, who made his WWE debut in 1996 was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018, after announcing his retirement post WrestleMania 33 in 2017. His final on-camera appearance in WWE came in January 2021 on a Legends Night edition.
 

In conversation with Booker T in his podcast Fame with Booker T & Brad Gilmore, Mark Henry had revealed that there are a lot of youngsters who did not get to see him wrestle live, instead, only being able to see YouTube videos of him. He went on add that enough time has passed before explaining his decision to return, saying that he was not given a farewell match. The legendary WWE superstar even apologised to fans for lying about his retirement, before insisting he owed one last match to pay tribute to the fans. The 49-year-old wrestling superstar last appeared in WrestleMania 33 and lifted two world titles during his illustrious wrestling career. In the past, former WWE stars Pac, Dustin Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, Cody, Billy Gunn, Chris Jericho, Trent, Jake Hager and Lance Archer have all shifted to AEW.
