Mancurad mango sold at Rs 6,000 a dozen in Goa

Mango, known as the king of fruits in the southern part of the country, is now in season. In Goa, mankurad mangoes are currently sold at Rs 6,000 per dozen. In view of this, it can be said that the Mankurad variety of mango is currently beyond the reach of common people.

Last week, a dozen yellow juicy mangoes of the Mankurad variety were sold at Rs 6,000 in the Panaji market. This price is Rs 500 per mango. A vendor in Panaji's fruit market said that now the price of Mankurad mangoes has increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 5,000 per dozen.

Last week we sold Mankurad mangoes at Rs 6,000 per dozen, now the price has come down to Rs 5,000. Because now other varieties of mangoes have also come in the market.

At present only a few people are selling Mankurad mangoes. But when the season starts in full swing, the entire market gets flooded with Mankurad mango. At present, many other local varieties of mangoes are yet to enter the market.

Another fruit vendor in Panaji said that Mankurad mangoes are being sold at Rs 5000 or Rs 400 per piece. We get good sales. But only those who can afford it can buy it. Some of them are expatriate Goans, who are on leave and will soon return abroad.

Also, other varieties of mango like Ghontya are available, but people want to know the price of this local Mankurad mango. Currently, the expensive Mankurad mango is being sold at Rs 400 per kg, while other varieties are being sold at Rs 300 to Rs 500 per kg.

These mangoes are native to Andhra Pradesh and taste just like Mankurad mangoes. Badami mangoes are also in the market and are being sold at Rs 500 per kg.
