When a 12 year old boy started eating 40 chapatis in a day. Then his parents did not take it seriously. Sandeep, a resident of Khod village of Shivpuri district, gradually lost his eyesight.

One day he fainted. Sandeep father Banwari Adivasi took him to a private hospital. Where the doctors were surprised after their examination. Sandeep blood sugar level reached 1206 mg. Banwari took his son to Dr Deepak Gautam and told him the whole story. Sandeep had a severe headache.When Doctor Gautam was examining him, Sandeep was breathing. Almost all the organs of his body, including the heart, had stopped working.

Dr Gautam said that his blood sugar level was abnormally high. This was the reason why he used to consume 40 chapatis in a day. Apart from this, pus also developed in his head. Dr Anant Rakhore, a medical surgeon, removed 720 ml of pus from his head.

Dr. Anant said that the boy had fainted due to pus. Due to which he had also become blind. To control his blood sugar level, doctors gave Sandeep six units of insulin daily. When his sugar level was normal. Then Dr. Girish Chaturvedi, an ophthalmologist of the district hospital, examined his eyes.

Chaturvedi said his parents to, The boy was suffering from diabetic retinopathy. He advised the boy’s parents to get his eyes operated at the earliest.

After his parents agreed, Dr Chaturvedi first operated on the boy’s left eye. Five days later, he operated on his right eye.

The boy’s eye sight has returned. Dr. Kriti and Dr. Shami Jain, a pediatrician in the medical college, Also played an important role in giving a new life to the boy.
