Pune Bus Rape Case: : Heavy Police Force Deployed At Swargate Bus Stand After Horrific Sexual Assault of 26-Year Old
Heavy police force was deployed at the Swargate bus stand in Pune on February 27. This comes after a 26-year-old was raped in a Shivshahi bus parked at the stand. Under the guise of directing the victim to her actual bus, the accused led her into the parked bus on February 26 at approximately 5:45 AM.

The medical report that was handed to the police station confirmed that the victim was raped by the culprit twice. Despite a police post that is not very far from the Swargate ST Bus Stand, 18 CCTV cameras, and security personnel just at a distance of 100 feet, identified as Dattatray Ramdas Gade (36), assaulted the victim twice and ran away.
Dattatray Ramdas Gade is a history-sheeter out on bail since 2019. Dozens of cases are filed against him. He was involved in drugs and murder-related cases majorly.
The incident has sparked harsh criticism due to Swargate bus depot security flaws. Serious concerns over safety at the transport hub were raised after political leaders inspected several abandoned ST buses and discovered them covered in condoms and liquor bottles.
The victim is being treated at the Sassoon Hospital while efforts to arrest the culprit for his crime are underway.
