Pune Fraud News: Elderly Woman Duped of ₹5 Lakh by Fake Police Officer Promising Job For Grand-Daughter
Pune: The elderly woman got duped of Rs. 5 lakh under the pretext of getting job at Pune Municipal Corporation for her grand daughter. The Khardi police has registered case against an individual. As per the information provided by the police officer, fraudster approached victim identified as Lata Arun Salunke as a police officer. He claimed to have connections with senior officials within the Pune Municipal Corporation.
The fraudster lured the complainant, Salunke, with the promise of securing a job for her granddaughter in the Corporation's Birth and Death Department. The accused met with her near a hotel in the Kharadi area. The complaint regarding this matter was lodged at the Kharadi Police Station by the young woman's grandmother, Lata Arun Salunke (60, resident of Golden Chowk, Chakan). Based on her complaint, a case has been registered against Ketan Dadasaheb Salunke (40, resident of Loni Kalbhor, opposite MIT College).
Over the past 15 to 20 days, he collected money from her on several occasions. When she inquired about the status of the job placement at the Corporation, he began to evade her questions. Realizing that she had been defrauded, she recently filed a formal complaint at the Kharadi Police Station. Police Sub-Inspector Ghule is conducting further investigations into the matter.
