Pune Road Accident: Truck Overturns at Warje Chowk, Major Mishap Averted

A major accident was narrowly avoided after a truck (MH 12 BF 0975) overturned on Saturday (28th) while taking a turn at the late MLA Ramesh Wanjale Chowk in Warje. The vehicle was traveling from Warje service road towards Shivane–Uttamnagar when the incident occurred. As the junction is usually crowded, fears of a serious mishap were raised immediately. However, fortunately, there was no crowd present at the spot at that time. Due to this, no injuries were reported, and no loss of life occurred, preventing what could have turned into a tragic situation.

Following the accident, the Plaster of Paris sheets loaded in the truck were immediately taken out and shifted to another vehicle to prevent further obstruction. The overturned truck in the middle of the junction led to a temporary disruption of traffic, causing inconvenience to commuters passing through the area. Vehicles were halted for some time as the road remained blocked due to the incident. The situation required quick action to ensure that normal traffic movement could be restored without causing prolonged delays or additional complications for motorists.

After receiving information about the incident, local authorities, along with traffic police, rushed to the spot and initiated efforts to manage the situation. With the help of a crane, the overturned truck was carefully moved aside to clear the road. Their prompt response ensured that traffic was gradually brought back to normal within a short period. The incident once again highlighted the need for better traffic management at the junction and stricter monitoring of heavy vehicle movement and speed control to prevent such occurrences in the future.
