Pune Tragedy: 4-Year-Old Child Dies After Snakebite in Bhor Taluka
A 4-year-old child died after snake bite in Kivat village of Bhor taluka in Pune. This tragic incident occurred on Friday, April 10, 2026 morning around 8:00 am. The deceased has been identified as Vignesh Ajit Chavan (aged 4), who was a student at the local Anganwadi.
According to local residents, Vignesh had stepped out of his home in the morning for washroom when he was bitten by something. After some time, upon realizing that he had been bitten, his family members and neighbors rushed him to the Sub-District Hospital in Bhor. However, medical officers declared him dead on arrival, before any treatment could be administered.
Following Vignesh's death, his relatives gathered outside the Sub-District Hospital and expressed their grief and outrage. During this emotional moment, incumbent Zilla Parishad member Pravin Jagdale, along with Gram Panchayat members Akshay Chavan, Ramesh Pawar, Sachin Pawar, and Yogesh Kumthe, offered their condolences and comforted the grieving women among the relatives.
The child's tragic death has devastated his family and plunged the village into mourning. Initial medical assessments suggest a venomous snakebite, but the definitive cause of death awaits the medical report.
