A 22-year-old man has died in Meerut after suffering a massive brain haemorrhage allegedly triggered by an addiction to the online game PUBG. The incident occurred in the Khairnagar area of Meerut district on Sunday morning, February 8, marking the second tragedy linked to gaming addiction in Uttar Pradesh this week, following a similar incident involving three sisters in Ghaziabad.

The victim, identified as Mohammad Kaif, was the only son of a local property dealer. Doctors reported that his blood pressure had surged to life-threatening levels before his collapse.  According to family members, Kaif was playing the popular battle ground video game PUBG Mobile late on Friday night. At approximately 3:00 am, while wearing headphones and deeply immersed in the game, he suddenly fell from his bed.

Kaif's father, Farooq, stated that his son had become increasingly obsessed with online gaming over the last four months. Previously interested in creating social media content, Kaif had recently transitioned to playing PUBG for entire nights at a time.

"He had become addicted to mobile games," Farooq said. "He would stay up all night playing. We warned him many times to stop, but he did not listen." Medical professionals confirmed that the extreme spike in blood pressure caused a cerebral stroke, leading to a fatal rupture of a brain vein.

His family rushed him to a local hospital, where medical staff found his blood pressure had exceeded 300 mmHg. Given his critical condition, he was immediately referred to a specialist facility in Delhi. Despite undergoing two days of emergency treatment, Kaif passed away on Sunday morning.
