UP: Viral Video of Wife Ties Husband to Bed in Aligarh; Mother-in-Law Approaches Police With Gun Photo

A shocking video emerged on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) showing a man's hands tied to a bed while he is lying on it. According to the NDTV report, a viral video is from Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district where a furious wife tied his husband to a traditional Indian cot for drinking alcohol, seeing this the woman's mother-in-law rushed to the police station with a photo of her daughter-in-law posing with a desi gun (country-made gun).

According to the report, the incident was said to be from Hamidpur village in Aligarh. As per the complaint by the woman's mother-in-law, the woman assaulted her son after tying him to a cot for consuming liquor.

In a viral clip lasting 1 minute and 19 seconds, a man is seen lying on a cot with both his hands tied using cloth made into ropes, while two women are heard arguing with each other. In the background, a person can be heard saying, “Call the police.”

Later in the video, the man’s mother is seen freeing one of his hands. However, his wife then approaches him and threatens that he will not be allowed to go anywhere. At the same time, another man present in the room can be heard saying, “Dare to stop him.”

The family of the man alleged that his wife had an illegal firearm, which she allegedly used to threaten her husband. The victim's mother showed the photograph of her daughter-in-law to police, which she claims shows her holding the gun.

The man's mother further complained that her son's wife had beaten him and threatened to kill him several times. The woman is identified as Soni from Rasulpur and got married to Pradeep four years ago. 

"She's been harassing us for the last two years. We also complained to the police and public representatives, and now we've come to the Tappal police station," the man's mother told NDTV.

Aligarh Police issued a video statement over the viral video. The police officer stated that the wife of the man, identified as Pradeep, accused him of fighting and arguing with his wife over domestic issues. She also alleged that he frequently gets into arguments with neighbours under the influence of alcohol. Facing frequent trouble from her husband, she allegedly tied her to the cot.

"Taking cognizance of the authenticity of the said video, the police at Tappa Police Station have called the wife of the person tied to the cot to the station and are interrogating her to ascertain the facts. Further legal action will be taken based on evidence in this regard", said Area Officer Khair.
