Thane Traffic Update: Road Closures and Parking Restrictions Announced from February 6 to 9; Check Timings and Alternate Routes
The Thane Traffic Police have released a detailed traffic advisory for commuters ahead of the Sanskruti Arts Festival 2026, which will take place at Upvan Lake from February 6 to February 9. The event, initially planned for January, was rescheduled due to administrative procedures and election-related commitments. As per official information, traffic regulations will be enforced daily between 2 pm and 12 midnight throughout the festival period. Considered one of Thane’s most prominent cultural celebrations, the Sanskruti Arts Festival highlights India’s diverse heritage through a blend of classical, folk, and contemporary art forms, drawing large crowds every year.
Crowd, stalls, and arrangements
According to the Thane Traffic Police, nearly 200 stalls will be installed along both sides of the stretch between Yeur Gate and Payaladevi Temple during the festival. The event is expected to witness heavy footfall as several renowned artists and well-known personalities are scheduled to perform and attend. Families, students, tourists, and art enthusiasts from across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region are likely to visit the venue over the four-day celebration. Due to the scale of arrangements and anticipated crowds, traffic movement around Upvan Lake and adjoining areas will remain regulated to ensure public safety and smooth flow of vehicles during peak evening hours.
