The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday unveiled the Rs 39,038.83 crore budget for the year 2021-22. The total budget estimates for the next financial year are 16.74 per cent more than the last fiscal when it had presented a budget of Rs 33,441 crore. This year's provisional budget for this project has increased by 25% from last year's proposed estimate.Rs 1339.94 crore for sewage treatment plant, 229.50 crore for major water works and 67 crore for Mithi river project.Considering the importance of public transportation, BMC has allotted a provisional Rs 750 cr fund to BEST for FY 2021-22.
