Aurangabad, June 3:The model adopted by the industries during lockdown and the all round contribution of medical equipment made by industrial associations in Aurangabad to save the lives of thousands of people has been noticed at national and international levels. The model will now be adopted by other industrial associations throughout the country, said the members of all industry associations in a joint press conference organised on Thursday.The conference was attended by the members of CMIA, CII, Massia and Aurangabad First. Giving more information, entrepreneur Mukund Kulkarni said that it was a challenge for all to bring the industry back on track after the first lockdown. However, with the efforts of all industrial associations, administration and NGOs we succeeded. The industry managed to keep the business running and also safeguard the lives of the workers in the second lockdown. The guidelines framed by the district collector with help of industrial associations are now being adopted as a model by other states. The Niti Ayog along with state industry minister Subhash Desai also took note of the initiative. Not only that, but the court has also appreciated this initiative. CII state vice chairman Sriram Narayanan, CII Marathwada zonal chairman Raman Ajgaonkar, vice chairman Prasad Kokil, CMIA vice president Shivprasad Jaju, AurangabadFirst president Pritish Chatterjee, Massia vice president Narayan Pawar were present.Medical supplies worth Rs 15 croreShriram Narayanan said, patients in the hospitals were not getting beds, oxygen and ventilators. Seeing this situation, the industries took the initiative to provide CSR funds and medical equipment to the GMCH as well as government hospitals in various districts of Marathwada. Equipment and medicines worth Rs 15 crore was provided in Marathwada.Ventilators from France and USRaman Ajgaonkar and Prasad Kokil informed that the associations provided 43 ICU ventilators, 140 oxygen concentrators, RNA extractor, RT PCR test machine, 1 lakh PPE kits and food to 25 lakh people. Over 20 ventilators were ordered from France and 12 from the United States.4.50 lakh food packets distributedPritish Chatterjee said, Last year, 4.50 lakh food packets were distributed to 25 lakh migrants and local workers in the lockdown. The work of the gas crematorium in Kailashnagar is also underway with funds of Rs 31 lakh that were raised in three days. We are planning to erect four to five such crematoriums.Permanent oxygen plantWith the initiative of Airox Technologies and CMIA, a permanent oxygen production plant is being set up at GMCH and it will be inaugurated on June 7. Through this, 600 liters per minute or 125 cylinders of oxygen will be filled per day. As a result, there will be no shortage of oxygen in the future, said Shivprasad Jaju.Blood donation campsCorona testing, vaccination, blood donation camps were conducted for the workers in the industrial areas. This helped in timely treatment of positive workers and also helped in smooth functioning of industries, said Narayan Pawar.
