Islamabad [Pakistan], April 29 : Clearing the air on Pakistan's former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa's statement on "combat worthiness" and his views on future threats, Pakistan military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Bajwa was quoted "out of the context."After media discussions on the "Pakistan Army's combat worthiness in view of the condition of certain weapon systems on its inventory," the ISPR released the statement.The ISPR said, "To this end, views of former army chief on the future threat to Pakistan, which he shared with media persons in an off-the-record interactive session, have been quoted out of the context."The military's media wing reassured the people that the army will always take pride in its "operational preparedness and utmost combat worthiness".The ISPR said, "Pakistan's Armed Forces always did and will continue to keep their weapons, equipment and battle-hardened human resource ever ready for the defence of the motherland."The statement came after Pakistan journalist Hamid Mir made the startling revelation that Gen Javed Bajwa had doubts about Pakistan's military prowess.Pakistan's former Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had reportedly told two senior journalists that Pakistan lacked the ammunition and economic strength to fight against India, according to UK-based Pakist media 'UK44'.The Pakist journalists- Hamid Mir and Naseem Zehra- during a show said that Gen Bajwa had in 2021 revealed that he held secret talks with India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and how Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit was planned to Pakistan soon after a ceasefire was announced between the two countries in 2021."Qamar Javed Bajwa deal on Kashmir has not yet been revealed to Pakist citizens.
