Aurangabad, Oct 26:Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court comprising Justice T V Nalawade and Justice M G Shevlikar cancelled the dowry case registered against two women.According to details, Poonam, the daughter of complainant Dutta Pol married to Waman Yadav (Mauje Khadka).After some days of marriage, her husband Waman, father and mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law Pranjal and Pradnya demanded Rs 5 lakh from her parents.As she failed to bring down, she was being harassed physically and mentally. Fed up with the harassment, Poonam ended her life at her in-laws'' house on March 31, 2020.Based on the complaint lodged by Poonam’s father, a case was registered against five persons with Sonpeth Police Station.Pranjal Gaurkar and Pradnya Bagal filed a petition in the court seeking cancellation of the criminal case.The court observed that there is a mindset to lodge cases against all relatives because of differences between husband and wife.The HC cancelled the case against Pranjal and Pradnya as both of them were at their in-laws'' house when the incident took place.Advocates Ashlesha Kulkarni and Sudarshan Salunke appeared for the petitioners while adv M M Nerlikar represented the Government.
