CCTV footage from a school in Aurangpura revealed that three of an 11-year-old child’s father’s close friends, following his instructions, allegedly abducted the child from the school premises on Wednesday.
According to the police, the child, under the mother’s legal custody, went missing around noon on Tuesday. The vehicle involved, a white Kia car (MH-20-HH-2015), was captured on camera as the child was placed inside. Following the incident, a kidnapping case has been registered at Kranti Chowk police station against the father and his three associates. Police sub-inspector Sudhakar Patil is leading the investigation and has begun questioning the father’s friends while tracing all possible leads to ensure the child’s safe recovery.
The complainant, a resident of Bhavasingpura, has been engaged in a prolonged legal dispute with her husband since their marriage in 2014. According to her, custody had previously been split: one child was with the father, while the elder child remained with her. She alleges that her 11-year-old son was forcibly taken by the father this time as well. On Tuesday, the child left for school around 12.10 pm. When the school transport failed to drop him home by 6 pm, the mother grew alarmed. Relatives immediately began an extensive search, including inquiries at the father’s residence in Shirdi, but the child could not be located. Fearing for his safety, the family approached the police to report the incident. The case has raised serious concerns about child safety amid ongoing custody disputes. Police continue to follow all leads and are coordinating with local authorities to ensure the child is safely returned to the mother’s custody.
