13 SPI candidates find place in NDA merit list; 2 girls selected from State

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A total of 15 candidates including two girls from Service Preparatory Institute (SPI), found a place in the merit list of the National Defence Academy (NDA) selection examination.

It may be noted that the NDA selection examination was held on September 1, 2024, while the final merit list was declared on Friday. In the merit list, A total of 13 students from the SPI of the city have secured a place in the merit list of all India rank.

Of them, seven students were selected for the Army, two for the Navy and four for the Air Force. These students will join the 154th batch of NDA and the 116th batch of Naval Academy in the second week of June for training.

The State Government established the Girls Service Preparatory Institute (G-SPI) in Nashik in 2023 for the first time to enable girls to take up officer positions in the defence forces.

The first batch of girls in this institute has performed beyond expectations, with two candidates performing successfully, making the State government's dream come true.

In-charge of SPI and GSPI Major S Firasat said that the institute always searched for talented students and provided them with a strong platform for the government.

“It is a proud and happy moment for the first time, girls will be admitted to the NDA through this institute. Along with that, 13 boys have also secured a place in the merit list, which is a proud number,” she said.
